Description

From Ride Engine

The world’s first purpose-built harness for wingsurfing, the Vinaka will have you riding longer and pinching upwind more efficiently by taking the wing’s weight off your arms whenever you want. The Vinaka’s ultra-minimal design of ripstop nylon and thin closed-cell foam weighs-in at a mere 450 grams, so you can still fully enjoy the free feeling of wingsurfing. With a shadow-like fit and sliding hook, the Vinaka virtually disappears when swimming, paddling, or riding toeside (situations where a traditional kite or windsurf harness can be a massive hassle/pain/annoyance). If want to extend your wingsurfing sessions, the Vinaka will help you stay out on the water when everyone else that’s winging has to head in because their arms are smoked

An Awesome Wing Accessory

I've been using this harness for every session for about 6 months and it's been a great addition to my setup. The design is simple and intuitive with a 3 way closure system, its a nice assurance that your wing will stay connected.
I actually invested in this after my second experience losing a wing out on the water. During a hard crash, I somehow unclipped the buckle securing my previous waist leash from another brand, and sent my wing tumbling downwind. Luckily some friendly nearby boaters happened to be out braving the moderate wind and they retrieved my wing and brought it to me.
I do wish that the hook and loop material was a more "heavy-duty" version because the first waist closure doesn't stay attached independently for any duration, despite being a relatively large patch of material on both sides to connect. Ultimately, it doesn't affect the overall safety or function of the product, I just have to secure the secondary closure to keep the harness on while I'm setting up.
In the meantime, I'm really enjoying the benefits that riding with a harness can bring, and I thing this is a solid design from Ride Engine.
