REAL Review

The Armstrong High Aspect line of foils is designed for top end performance and speed.  Armstrong's goal in designing this was to make a foil that could take you to the top level but also turn and accessible to a lot of foilers.  These HA wings were designed with The America's Cup foil designers to bring in some top-level computer systems and engineering oversight.

**A+ High Aspect wings are compatible with the original Armstrong foil system fuselage.

HA525:

When serious conditions come calling, there’s only the HA525. The 525 redefines speed and flow within the High Aspect range. It’s tailored to perfection for tow-in days, high wind winging, and all around kiting. Experienced lightweight riders can tap into the 525’s remarkable prone surfing performance.

  • Area: 525 cm2
  • Wingspan: 730 mm
  • Weight: 500 grams
  • Aspect Ratio: 10.2
HA725:

For experienced wingers and kiters there is no comparison, it makes tacking so fun as the speed and glide drive you through manoeuvres. Combine this with amazing upwind angles and the riding never stops! Like the 925 the HA725 is truly amazing, the turn radius and pitch stability are sublime! Sleek inflected tips help prevent ventilation even if the tip breaches. The HA 725 is also a solid wave slasher for surf and tow in. Scorching top end and effortless rail to rail allows you to draw the lines you want with speed and confidence. This foil will push Your progression to the limit !

  • Area: 725 cm2
  • Wingspan: 849 mm
  • Weight: 690 grams
  • Aspect Ratio: 10
HA925:

The HA925 is the silver bullet for performance wing, surf, and downwind foiling. The HA925 turns better than any high aspect wings we have tested, and the glide is on point. It is as if the HS1050 and HA1125 made a baby and the HA925 was born.

  • Area: 925 cm2
  • Wingspan: 954 mm
  • Weight: 900 grams
  • Aspect Ratio: 9.8
HA1125:

The HA1125 is the all-around size of the High Aspect line.  You ride this wing smaller in surface area because of the wide span it has. This foil is really fast and is amazing for wing surfing, down winding and pumping around in small surf.  The thin tips can breach and not ventilate and surprisingly the turning rail to rail is easy for the intermediate or better rider.

  • Area: 1125 cm2
  • Wingspan: 1050 mm
  • Weight: 955 grams
  • Aspect Ratio: 9.8
HA1325:

The HA1325 has freakish light wind performance and next level pump and glide if you want to double dip or link up micro swells, this wing just keeps on going.

  • Area: 1325 cm2
  • Wingspan: 1164 mm
  • Weight: 1100 grams
  • Aspect Ratio: 10.2
HA1525:

ha 1525 The HA1525 foil’s excellent low end ability makes lightwind cruising and tacking a breeze. Looking to link up endless bumps down the coast? The HA1525’s impressive speed and glide performance caters perfectly to riders of all weights looking to maximize downwinders and flatwater pumping.

  • Area: 1525 cm2
  • Wingspan: 1200 mm

HA 925 lightwind kite magic

I’ll preface by saying the HS1050 and Flying V-tail is still the GOAT in my view , but I got this HA925 specifically for the ultra light and gusty days bc with this wing I can literally down loop the kite once to get on foil then pump the wing through the lulls virtually dragging your kite behind you to link up the next puff. This helps me to get out to the wind line when I ride side-offs in light air but then it doesn’t get unwieldy if the breeze picks up. Incredibly efficient, easy pumping, very fast, points quite high. It doesn’t do pivoty / snappy turns but then I suppose that’s not the design goal with HA wings. You have to be careful not to outrun your kite as this wing just GLIDES fast ... catching boat wakes or waves in open water can cause you to run under your kite it’s so slippery. I’m small guy about 5’10” / 185lbs I run it with HA tail / 60cm fuse / 85cm mast pretty far forward in my 4’5” Armie board. I can surf it too but at my weight I find I need a bit more of a bump to get her on wing as the stall speed of this wing is higher than my lower aspect wings. In small waves I still reach for larger footprint. Only complaint: She whistles like crazy so I’ll be sanding the trailing edge soon. And evidently I need to start lifting legs because this one will give you a workout. Overall a winner for pump / glide / speed / efficiency and maximization of otherwise mediocre conditions!

HA1525 crazy light wind glider

I was going in 9 knots of wind and I'm a big guy. The HA1525 gets on foil fast and just jams upwind. I was blown away at the light wind performance, glide and just straight fun on this HA1525.

HA 725 Quick high performance wing

I mainly kite foil, and I love the HA 725 as an experienced foiler. It gives you a very locked in feel when going high speed, but is also predictable at turns when you get used to it. Once you are going fast you can get some crazy upwind angles. I have been riding this with the HA 195 tail wing/ 60cm fuselage/ and 100cm mast. Very fun wing and I highly recommend this to advanced foilers.

High performance and fast!

I've been riding the 925 for a couple of weeks now, and I just love the performance and quality. The construction is incredible- the mast to fuselage connection seems very strong. The performance is next level. This front wing has some serious glide and pump ability. I've only been winging for a year, so I was worried about transitioning to HA wings, but I adjusted very quick. It's more responsive than the Kujira foils I was using before and is better in almost every quality. I look forward to using this in bigger waves, and to test out my top speeds!
Matt is very knowledgable and helped me pick what was right for my skill level. Thanks to the Real WS team for delivering superb service!

Armstrong HA795 vs Lift HA120 for surf foiling

I’ve been riding the Armstrong Foils 725 ⁣HA for the last week in Hawaii and finally getting a good feel for it. I was originally worried it would have too much overlap with the Lift 120 HA, but the feel is very different.

Despite being only 725(HA795) v 775(HA120) cm^2 it feels like a much smaller wing. What I do like it’s that it’s noticeably faster than the 120, which is really saying something. It has slightly better roll as well which gives it an almost-surf-wing type of feel. What I don’t like is it has a really high stall speed. I think you need at least shoulder-head high for this wing.

I found myself stalling out on routine connection turns or unable to skip back up on a touch down which made me safety turn it a bit. I also got it out on some juicer head high days and it handled really well at warp speed. Right now I’ll ride it as a bigger wave compliment to the Lift 120 rather than as a replacement.
