Slingshot SlingWing V3

Had a chance to ride this 5m v3 wing in the ocean in side off conditions with wind into the high teens (mph) and small waves. This wing is light and easy to fly. In the lulls, when accelerating using a pumping motion it felt like this wing wanted to be held higher to maximize pumping motion, which works well when flying larger size like 5m, as less likely the wing tip will catch on the water. The inflation is quick with the valves they provided. Also has additional dump valves to make deflation quick. The wing packs down into surprisingly small footprint when using a tri fold pattern. The long stitched dual handle setup give you lots of options for how you like to to ride offering a wide range of grip positions. The are somewhat firm but not fastened to the strut like the cyclone or nova v2. Its a more forgiving feel, but definitely seems to be where the industry is headed.
The bag in this kit was a bonus. And there is plenty of room in the bag with the wing in there. Its more like a typical day pack in shape and size which opens it up to other uses. It has dual adjustable shoulder straps and full length zipper for easy (un) packing. The inside of the backpack is lined with a silver foil which would not only keep your wing cool but maybe even some beverages - point being if you need to go sight seeing on a lay day, it would be perfect for bumming around town. Good for the winger who is on the go.

I'm a very experienced surfer, kite and prone foiler and just getting into winging. I rode this wing in strong winds in the Watermen's Foil Garden at REAL Watersports.

I found quick success, was up and riding despite the crazy gusty spring conditions of Cape Hatteras. The wing performed well during the lulls, and gusts. I felt confident that my wing choice was 100% correct as I progressed through the session.

The handles were well positioned and I found it easy to position with wing and make changes. Additionally, I crashed a few times and even landed in the canopy once - the wing seems solid.

Great wing - stoked for many more sessions.

This wing is really easy to ride. It is light and balanced and pulls you up on to foil with minimal effort. When on foil, the long strap handles allow you to move your hands around based on how powered you are with out having to let go and move handle to handle.

The wind range on these wings is really impressive too. Nice low end grunt and then when you get super overpowered the wing stays balanced and you can handle it. It doesnt back wind like a lot of other wings. I think that is due to the reinforcements they put on the canopy where the center strut meets the leading edge.

I didn't like the bag or the one pump system but it ended up growing on me and made it easier to assemble on a boat or tricky rigging area. The strut has a dump valve so you can deflate it easily.

The V3 boost really well too. Easy to access nice airs with soft landings.

I keep coming back to this wing because it is easy to ride in all conditions. Every session I like it more and it is quickly becoming one of my favorites because of the ease of use ans reliability.
