Dialing in your Pavones Quiver

Trip Forman recently followed a swell to Pavones, Costa Rica, the second longest left in the world. This video details his quiver, what worked, what didn’t, and how you can get dialed in for your next surf adventure.

Boards featured in this video:

Ryan Sakal Sabre 7’0 x 21.25 x 2.75 @46.22L

Christenson Wolverine 6’10 x 21 x 2.75 @43.5L

Christenson Myconaut 5’11 x 21.25 x 2.63 @39L

Fins featured in this video:

Captain Fin Christenson Keel: (Ryan Sakal Sabre)

Captain Fin Christenson Twin: (Christenson Wolverine)

FCS Mayhem Split Keel: (Christenson Myconaut)

Note: After this trip and video, Trip did catch up with Ryan Sakal about his experience on the Sabre. Ryan seconded the idea of trying a more vertical MR style twin to loosen the board up and said he’s been receiving positive feedback on this set up in good waves.  Ryan also mentioned his Lasso model (2+1 mid length) has more curve in the outline and rocker, and would be a good fit for a quality wave like Pavones.
