Lively and playful, this 3-strut allrounder has unparalleled versatility and wind range. Big jumps. Upwind performance. Effortless relaunch. For 2022 we’ve introduced a new lighter Dacron exo-skeleton in every size and revised the arc design for a crisper, snappier response, more direct steering and more dynamic recovery. Still nimble and easy to ride, but now with a cleaner profile that’s even more stable in kite loops, the Reach is your go-to kite in all conditions. The lighter construction excels throughout the entire wind range, foil and surf, without compromising the kite’s durability. Its fast, responsive steering and efficient power delivery give rise to incredible boosts, loops and freestyle, while the short responsive bridle provides quick, exponential depower. In the three larger sizes, the Reach is a powerful lightwind kite designed with a predictable, consistent drive forward for TwinTip riding - long after everyone else has gone in.
The North Reach is my go to first kite purchase suggestion! Its design allows for fantastic relaunch performance making it easy for new riders, however even as a rider of 6 years (160 lbs), I will still choose this kite for my own personal sessions. You will be satisfied with this purchase!
This kite does it all. No matter what style kiter you are foil to surf. This kite is so versatile. This is a great kite that delivers the best bang for the buck.
The reach is a great versatile kite. It is easy to control and if you crash it, it relaunches easily. It is easy to control, especially for a beginner. The kite is very stable and has a light feel. The kite has a decent amount of power without feeling too overpowered.
The Reach is my go-to kite for anything but the most serious boosting sessions (any time when I am not on my Orbit). It foils well, surfs well and it does light wind really, really well. It does jump, but the new 2023 Orbit has a bit more bar pressure and boosts much higher due to the inclusion of a few extra struts and a higher aspect ratio. For foiling and surfing, it drifts well and is light enough to not be a pain to relaunch even on the lightest days. It also relaunches fast when powered so that if you drop it in the waves, it gets back in the sky quickly. Today was a great example of its light wind capabilities. I took a 15M out when the meter said 15-18mph and the wind dropped to 10-14mph while I was out there. I was able to stay upwind and play around with some tricks while keeping my ground in abysmal wind speed. For these reasons, the Reach is my favorite all round kite and I cant wait for the 2023 model to hit.
I first rode this kite with very little experience. Even so, it was very easy for me to handle, but still had plenty of power. If I had to use one word to describe this kite with would be predictable. I knew exactly what the kite was going to do, even with my less than experienced movements. On this same occasion, a few of my more experienced buddies were on the same kite doing big jumps and having a blast. If that is not a testament to this kites versatility I do not know what is. Overall, I think this is a great kite for anyone to keep in their quiver.
