I purchased my 7 foot Creatures Leash about a year and a half ago for OBX surf and haven't looked back since. The leash is very strong while remaining just flexible enough in heavy surf to gracefully manage big wipeouts, board ditching, and hold downs. Leash connection point to the board is a triple overlap velcro and very secure. Never had an issue with safety, breakage or loss of board. Surfed with this leash on multiple overhead days that produced extreme force on the leash in pounding conditions.
