Description

From Armstrong

From our new and innovative “Forward Geometry” Wing Surf and Wing Sup board designs, highlight the drive and passion we have to always be improving and maximizing the potential of every ride! The logic behind Forward Geometry is all about the mast track position in relation to the center of the board. The further forward the mast can go the better, it improves maneuverability, response and dramatically reduces the rotational swing weight effect. Combine this with state-of-the-art 320mm Carbon fiber A+System Mast Tracks and you have maximum potential to get your board and foils geometry working for you!

Without question, shorter boards offer superior maneuverability, feel and control once on the fly but getting them there is not so easy. Until now that is, as boards get shorter it becomes important to maximise stability and hull speed when still attached to the water. The new Forward Geometry shapes from Armstrong have addressed this issue with a beautiful innovative approach enabling everyone to take advantage of the benefits riding shorter boards. The new Forward Geometry range of boards are packed full of innovation.

Features
  • Forward Geometry… Our new A+System Mast Tracks are positioned well forward in the board to reduce rotational swing weight which radically improves handling and response.
  • High strength custom Carbon fiber A+System Mast Tracks… Plastic simply does not do the job well enough, so we designed our own 320mm Carbon Fiber mast tracks.
  • Recessed deck… This brings you closer to the mast top for direct handling and feel.
  • Extended waterline profile view… Speed is the key, so we use all the boards waterline to help accelerate the board forward.
  • Chisel-nose outline… Offers stability on the water and helps push the water under the board rather than splitting it around the board.
  • Aggressive nose rocker into an accentuated double concave to flat… This is all about bringing the nose up quickly to accelerate the water down the double concave to flat bottom at the tail.
  • Innovative tail shape… For better acceleration, less drag at the rear waterline release area, it looks faster because it is!
  • Accentuated chines… As the board picks up speed and the foil starts to lift, the contact area reduces, making for a smooth transition from on the water to foiling and also seamless touchdowns as the board does not grab as it touches the water’s surface.
  • Stable Volume distribution… The recessed deck, wide Chisel nose and relatively rectangular outline means we can push the volume to the extremities, makes for a stable platform when on the water.
  • Light and strong… Lightweight is nothing without strength so we have chosen the best materials to keep the boards both light and strong. Foam core with multiple PVC reinforcements, Dual Carbon stingers, covered with Carbon fiber and Dyneema cloth.

The 4’10” is the perfect board to learn prone foiling!

Especially for a bigger rider like myself haha. I found the board to be really forgiving, and it performs great when you’re up and riding. Everybody else’s comments are spot on. It’s just a fantastic board board for prone foiling and I’m super stoked to keep on progressing with this thing!

Amazing for prone foil surfing

I was on the Slingshot Flying Fish and then jumped over to the KT Drifter S. I found the Drifter S super narrow and tippy side to side. It also had a lot more rocker. So for the weaker, mushier waves we have here in Tofino, BC the KT wasn't cutting it. I called Real and chatted with Travis and a few other guys about boards. They said they get to try all of the gear from the shop and can basically have any board they want and most of the guys ride this board. Now I know why. Its so good at getting small mush. Really good for grovelling and has also don well with punchier sessions and towing. My favorite thing about it is that it's so stiff with the carbon mast track boxes attached to the stringer. I can feel so much of the foil. The only bummer is that the traction on the board has a gap between the two pads that you either have to wax or find your own traction for (the route I went). The stock pads dont cover enough space to move your feet around so you'll have to get traction in between some other way. Overall I was hesitant to buy one of the pricier boards on the market but I love it so much. Exceeded my expectations. :) Thanks Real!

Best Prone Foil Board

I love everything about this board. I'm 185lbs and 4' 5" is perfect for me and 34L is perfect for getting into waves on those smaller days. This board release so well from the water, so a little touchdown won't mess you up on your wave or pumping back out to connect on the next wave. Being Armstrong, its literally got the best build quality in each category. It's super light, stiff, and durable. Being light and stiff makes pumping super efficient so all your energy is going into the water. It also just looks so darn good!

Best foil board ever!

What else is there to say about this board other than it is a foiling machine. Great for pumping and the stiffer construction ensures a seamless connection between the rider and foil. I have used this board with an Armstrong foil system, as well as other systems and found that both work great with this board. Just keep in mind the tracks are farther forward. Overall, a great board that you would come to expect from Armstrong.

Smartly Refined Foil board for Shredding the Surf

Armstrong certainly succeeded in upgraded its prone board with this FG model. First of all, the board does a great job of creating a smooth connection between the rider and the foil. Small inputs from me were translated seamlessly to the foil which allows me to make quick adjustments while riding a wave.

I was also impressed with positive changes to the board shape and overall volume distribution. The board paddles better and starts planning at lower speeds. I downsized from a 4'5 Surf Kite Tow (34L) to the 4'0 FG board (30L), and find that catching waves is about the same. However, riding a smaller board allows me to crank harder turns, pump more efficiently, and throw bigger airs. Super stoked!
