This is the standard 9mm inflate valve that is used on a huge variety of kites. It's somewhat common for the glue that holds the valve to the bladder to de-laminate over time due to heat or low quality glue. Removing the old valve can sometimes be as easy as carefully peeling the old one off, dunking it in hot water for more stubborn valves, or the worst case scenario is cutting out the old valve. The surface area on this replacement is big enough to create a solid contact patch even if you do have to cut out the old valve.
The main difference you'll see with this Airtime valve vs other brand's valve replacements, is that the glue is attached to a white foam backing. That foam is essential for holding the entire valve stiff as you apply it to the bladder, letting you get a clean and even bond. Other brands without that foam will be nearly impossibly to apply evenly and without creases.
The package comes with great step by step instructions. Airtime also has some great how-to videos on their website at http://kiterepair.tumblr.com.
This is a great product, and its a good idea to have a few as backups in your kite bag so that you never have to miss a session.
