Souping up this easy-riding, playful fun machine, to a wider range of waves.
“Less nose and tail area, with a more continuous outline, expands the wave range and the reduces the limitations of an exceedingly wide board.”

Is it possible to make an all time favorite even better?
That’s the question...and the challenge. The Puddle Jumper was a genre defining game changer and one of the most popular small wave hybrids of all time. With a plethora of knock-offs and our own growing line up of spin- offs, its evolution and popularity continues. More than a decade in, The PuddleJumper is still evolving.
In 2023, we launched the Puddle Jumper Sting, with Duke Aipa. After a strong response, both critically and commercially, to the PJ Sting Squash, we wanted to expand and evolve the Puddle Jumper Sting to a Round Pin version.
Pulling the tail into a rounded pin was natural and easy. Using one of Ben Aipas classic tail templates, Duke cut a few in and then challenged me to cad them up…and while doing so, pushed me to sleek the overall outline up a touch, as well. We pulled in the nose a bit and added curve to the entire outline. Immediately upping the sexy factor and more importantly, enabling sharper, tighter and more controlled turning in the pocket. Quickly souping up this easy riding, playful fun machine, to a wider range of waves.
Less nose and tail area, with a more continuous outline, expands the wave range and the reduces the limitations of an exceedingly wide board.
We shaved the overall dims a bit and laid out the stock size scale so that if you previously rode and loved the PJ Sting Squash, at a certain size, you would slide right into the Round Pin version, 1” longer.
The same evolution that brought the Sting to prominence, 50 years ago, is re-applied here, expanding the Puddle Jumper Sting, with amazing results.
Bertlemann will love it and Buttons would be stoked!
