This wing is really light. The 5m Glide Hybrid is 4.4 lbs which is a pound less than most wings of this size. If it holds up to hours of abuse and use it will be legit. Time will have to tell on durability but from the Alula kites we have, they do not have any durability issues.
The strut is very skinny compared to most. You pump it to 12 psi which is a lot and the thing is rock solid. The frame is Dacron and pumps to 7 psi.
The frame and feel is very light and solid when pumped up. It doesn't flex that much when you are getting on to foil which was surprising. The draft seems pretty flat and this wing was fast. It goes upwind well but it feels overall fast when you are cranking around on it.
Luffing out seemed pretty good. It was stable and pretty easy to ride waves with. The wing span is kind of wide for a 5m because of the flatter profile so I did catch the wing tip while riding twice and luffing once and it was hard to flip back over while still on foil.
I think that the handles can be improved. They were more comfortable than expected and you can move your hands forward or backward on them for more or less power. They are connected by secure Velcro straps so they can be removed, I think this is a weak point and makes the handles have a mushier fell than necessary. Stiffer handle connection would lead to more control so I think they missed the mark here.
Overall a great wing that had a really impressive first few sessions.
