REAL Review

The Armstrong High Speed series is designed for user-friendly performance foiling.  These Armstrong wings are mid aspect design with a thinner profile and wider span for higher performance.

Key Features
  • All Armstrong A+ System HS Series Wings are compatible with the original Armstrong Foil.
  • Construction is based around a high-density foam core, which is wrapped with 100% IM and High Modulus Carbon.
  • T30 Stainless Screws with Titanium Barrel Nut
  • Padded wing cover included.
HS625 Foil Wing:

The HS625 is designed for top speed tow or kite foiling. This foil needs to have forward speed in the teens to get on foil and has top speeds well into the 30s.  You can chop off the flipped up tips to reduce the stability and increase the speed.

  • Wing area: 626cm2
  • Wing span: 605mm
  • Weight: 620g
HS850 Foil Wing:

The HS850 is the ultimate foil for recreational performance kite foiling.  The wider span of the mid aspect HS850 gives it a lot of stability combined with a lower stall speed than the HS625.  This foil is amazing surf foiling in bigger waves or smaller surf with smaller riders.

  • Wing area: 850cm2 (131in2)
  • Wingspan: 669mm
  • Weight: 720g
HS1050 Foil Wing:

The HS1050 is the lowest aspect foil in the HS range that was designed for in the pocket performance surfing. The thin profile allows you to get high speeds while ripping down the line. The lower aspect shape gives the rider a lot of stability for fast rail to rail foil surfing.  The HS1050 has also become a fan favorite for recreational kite foiling or towing on smaller waves.

  • Wing Area: 1050cm2 (163in2)
HS1250 Foil Wing:

The HS1250 was designed for performance surf and winging. This is a mid-aspect foil that has a lot of glide yet still engages rail to rail turns with ease.  The thinner profile offers you a lot of speed and control in all foiling conditions.

  • Wing Area: 1250cm2 (194in2)
  • Wingspan: 830mm
  • Weight: 850g
HS1550 V2 Foil Wing:

The HS1550 V2 is the most user-friendly wing in the HS line that has something for everyone. This wing excels at wing foiling, wake foiling, pumping, windsurf foiling and surf foiling small to medium sizes waves.  The V2 1550 has a wide wingspan so you get a glide and pump that is similar to the HA1125 just in a much easier to ride foil with a lower stall speed.  The great news is that this wing rolls rail to rail and turns amazingly well.

  • Wing Area : 1550 cm2
  • Wingspan: 938 mm
  • Weight 1125g
HS1850 Foil Wing:

The HS1850 is the ultimate wake foiling wing for riding right behind the boat or multiple wakes back. This is also a great choice for wing foiling since it has amazing low-end lift but can still handle higher end speeds.  If you are surfing tiny waves and want to learn to pump, the HS1850 has enough glide and forward speed to get you going and keep your learning curve vertical.

  • Wing Area: 1850cm2 (286 in2)
  • Wingspan: 940mm
  • Weight: 1350g

Such a good all around wing!

I have had the 1050, 1250, and 1550 now for about two years and haven't need anything else! From kiting, to prone on big or small days, to wake foiling, these have had me covered.

The 1550 is my favorite behind the boat. Its such a glidy, pumping machine that still carves like a dream on big or small wakes. We've got a crew of 6 of us that will ride together from the 1st waves to the 4th or 5th wave back. Wakesurfing is cancelled! And if you're smaller or wanting to get super aggressive, the 1250 is the perfect progression.

So you like to kite you say? HS1050 is your front wing.

The 1050 is a by far my favorite front wing for kiting. The top and bottom end speed ranges are perfect for in the surf and flat water. I have found that the wing doesn't pop out of the wave when it gets bigger and it handles the speed if you want to accelerate down the line. When it comes to slow transitions, this front wing keeps you up allowing you enough time to cycle the kite and generate your speed. Next to all of this, the wing is really stable and carves buttery smooth.

I pair this with a 60cm fuse and 232 tail wing and find that it is the perfect kitefoil setup. It is particularly great for people looking to try new things and progress as the stability is there while not sacrificing any maneuverability. 10/10 would recommend.

Perfect for Wing Progression

Rode the 1550 wing upon the recommendation of Matt for my first wing session of the year and was instantly up and riding. Stoked.

I'm an experienced surfer, kite and prone foiler and just getting into winging.

I rode this wing in conjunction with the Slingshot V3 4M wing and the 99L Armstrong Board in gusty spring conditions in Cape Hatteras.

I was up and riding quickly. I'm amazed how the wing was stable at low speeds, quick to make adjustements, then handled high speeds with confidence.

As I progress with winging, I'll be on this wing for sure.

HS 1550 V2 is amazing for wake foiling

The HS1550 v2 was awesome on wake number 2 and farther back. Really awesome. So much glide, speed range and turning.

HS1050 and HS1250

HS1050
This wing is incredible. Its so fast and quick to turn and carve. It works great in better punchier surf and doesn't feel like its pushing you up out of the wave on drops. Pumping it is definitely harder and takes some extra work, but the payoff is in how maneuverable it is. You really have to keep your speed up when pumping to keep it going. Works great for towing into waves since it has a good top end speed, but also won't drop out on you when you just circling around waiting for a wave.

HS1250
This wing is insane, and probably my favorite for prone surf foiling. It pumps really really well, and it is still super loose and carves great for surfing. Its noticeably faster than some of the larger wings, and picks up speed like crazy if you get a few good pumps in. I would say a must have wing in the quiver for anyone prone foiling.

A+
Solid well built system. Seems like a nice build upgrade that will help to make all the gear last longer after heavy use. Love it.
