Description

From Armstrong

A state of the art board that’s stiff, strong and ultra thin for a pure connection to the foil. The WKT board range was specifically developed for the rigours of wake, kite and tow foiling. A high tech moulded carbon construction delivers incredible stiffness and durability while keeping volume and thickness to a minimum. The result is a highly responsive feel with sublime connectivity to the foil.

WKT 109cm 3'7" x 16.5" x 1" Vol:8.2L

The smallest WKT suits light or advanced riders in all three sports. Its minimal length also makes it an ideal choice for flatwater pump foiling.

WKT 122cm 4'0" x 17.25" x 1" Vol:9.5L

The perfect balance of length and low volume for experienced wake and kite riders. For advanced tow foilers, this is the go to size.

WKT 137cm 4'6" x 18.5" x 1" Vol:11.5L

The largest size in the range easily rebounds off the water when landing airs, making it ideal for heavier riders. Rookies will find it accelerates their progression with forgiving waterstarting characteristics.

109cm kite foiling.

The WKT 109cm is an incredibly fun board for kitefoiling. An advantage of its small size is the direct connection you feel with the foil. For my riding level it’s about as small as I would want to go with a kite foil board while still maintaining a comfortable platform for foot switches. The WKT has a ton of nose rocker to help recover during touchdowns and the beveled rails also deflect from the surface of the water super nicely. For heavier riders or new foilers, the 122 or 137cm would be much better options for learning foot switches and transitions on something more forgiving.

Intuitive Design and Ride for Kite Foiling

WKT 122
This feedback comes from an experienced kiteboarder/wingfoiler looking to get into KF. This is my first dedicated KF board. Overall, I found this to be a very high quality built board. I found it desireably very stiff and reactive, providing immediate response to rider input. I spent my first week of KF in Turks with this board set up with Armstrong 72 mast, 1050 foil, 300 tail, 60 fuse and one front strap. The board easily floated sideways on the water making getting starting easy. The decreased volume was quickly overcome with a quick kite throw to a taxi or on foil position, and the front camber allowed for frequent underwater starts along with easy recovery from touch downs during transitions. This board was very stable at high speed and quickly reactive to my input for turns. The performance characteristics were exactly as specified in the design intentions. While I usually prefer strapless surfboard riding, I only used one strap centered up front and nothing additional in the rear. I found rear foot position to be easily intuitive, falling into the concavity of the board naturally with no kickpad. Maybe I’ll add one when I get more aggressive with my turns! I foresee many years increasing my technique yet likely still not pushing the limits and capabilities of this awesome board. As always, Matt’s advice was spot on and much appreciated!

109 - For Dock Starts

The 109 provides a high-quality, stable platform for instantaneous feedback from the foil below, making it an optimal choice for learning and progressing with Dock Starts and flat water pumping in general. The small profile makes it easy to handle in and out of the water, yet there's plenty of room to dial in your foot placement on the fly. Having some shape under the front foot allows you to feel the perfect spot, without having to look for it, and the foam grips booties or bare feet nicely.
Overall, it's a well-built ride that can fly in a lot of settings, with a lasting functionality as you progress. If you're looking for something that works for dock starts and beyond, this one is definitely worth considering.
