Great wing

Been riding the 6.2 wing for a week now in conditions from 10-25 mph (sometimes gusting from less than 10 to 25 in sideoff winds). I've been riding wings that claim and deliver power and they do but the Dakine Cyclone is something else because it creates great light wind power as well as excellent top end control when at the high end of its range. At 25 it was as much fun as at 15. Did you ever try a kite and it had a feel like it was just waiting to jump? the Cyclone when you pick it up makes you feel like it is ready to go and rip you up onto the foil. I noticed the flutter but only on the beach. I only get my shorts in a twist when the flutter comes with a "farting" noise which usually indicates "loose" trailing edge. Considering there are wings pushing $2000 give the Dakine (6 is $999) a shot. All those details over the years Dakine has put in their watersports accessories is found in this wing. Thank God for no special pump attachment. Listen up other companies, any pump hose will work. No more roaming the beach trying to find the right pump attachment because yours has disappeared.

great low end and flags out nice

I have ridden this 5m in the ocean and waves for several sessions with and without a harness. The wing has great low end power, which is important when trying to get on foil as quick as possible to navigate in waves. The shape was good and I had no wing tip drags when pumping. Experienced some slight canopy flutter when hooked into the harness and pushing hard up wind and fully lit on the wing. This wing flies to neutral quickly with little drag when flagging out. Its also lifts predictable without resistance when you need to power back up.
Love the two handles as they allow for small adjustments in positions when trimming, powering and turning. The stiff handles are key when making turns into a wave, as you can hold the wing with one hand and apply pressure to turn and angle it to prepare for flagging out when catching the wave in the turn (e.g. jibe). The handles are also nice when riding toe-side as you can easily slide your front and back hand up or down depending how aggressive you want to ride up wind.
The deflation of the center strut does take some effort if you want to make it happen fast.
overall this is a "go to" wing if you want to ride in waves.

Solid Wing

I got to try this wing out recently during an ocean downwinder. It was blowing about 20 mph average with some weird wind conditions and I was on the 5m wing. I found this to be a great all around wing! Overall in the surf it performed really well. The wing is very taught so you have pretty solid low end power to start up and go. Overall handling was balanced and it didn't want to flip over or turn on me like some wings do. I really liked the handles a lot. The bar handles are firm yet have some give to them providing a nice connected feel. I also really liked the front nose handle on the wing. This is the only one I've seen that actually has some contouring and shape design for that front handle instead of a loop. It has a kind of tapered off shape to it, which helps you to have a little bit more twist control on that handle which is nice. Also this thing has huge windows! Usually I don't care about windows at all because you can never really see out of them anyways, but these are big enough to see out of. The only thing I didn't like about this wing is the hose connecting the Leading Edge to the Strut is about the width of a pencil, so it takes forever to deflate the strut. With that being the only gripe, it a solid all around wing!

Surprisingly Good

Dakine did a nice job with their first wing. Much better than most. This wing has a lot of forward drive so you get up on foil easily. The windows are big and easy to use. Upwind and overall performance keeps up with most wings on the market.

It does have a little flutter on the trailing edge when you get really powered up.

I really liked the hard and rigid handles. It is like a bar in a strap so you can get great grip and control of the wing. Nice job DAKINE!!
