The Volume is the board that Jordy continued to adjust and fine-tune while competing in Europe. When the news broke of his Olympic qualification we adjusted this model to suit the Japanese conditions because Jordy is by far the tallest and heaviest surfer on tour. We flew over to Japan to experience the waves first hand and fine-tune the model. This is the story that lead to the birth of the Volume!
Jordy tested this design extensively when he returned to Durban tweaking the rocker, concave, and rails to make it perform better. The Volume also had a big impact on Matt McGillivray from J.Bay where he too added vital feedback to scale the dimensions of the Volume for the average weight surfer. This allowed us to achieve a well-rounded dimension scale.

Our Natural bottom curve rocker offers a moderate entry rocker for quicker glide. We then get an increased lift which generates speed and connects sections effortlessly carrying speed through your turns.
Wider Outlines are becoming more common, especially in the nose area. This benefits easier paddling into waves and helps stability.
The thickness for heavier surfers has become vital. We hide volume/liters along the stringer. The top-deck rolls off towards the rail shoulder giving the rail a sexier look and engages the wave face.
Concave and rail rocker-line. Deeper concave’s between the legs and tail give us more lift combined with the natural moderate rocker helps generate speed quickly. This configuration will enhance speed and control when doing maneuvers.
